Swiss-Americano Erika Stucky (born in San Francisco) is one of the most original voices on the international jazz scene. She is a musical and literary mix of Laurie Anderson, Frank Zappa and Pippi Longstocking and, according to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, manages effortlessly to hit an irresistible spot between Alpine home life and urban nightmare.   Her works are a mix of entertainment, avant-garde jazz and pop music, infused with American, Valais and Dadaist scraps of words. Out of this emerges a happily subversive work of art. She has toured the past twenty-somewhat years with, among others, The Young Gods, the WDR Big Band and appeared in Essen in Carla Bley’s jazz-opera ‘Escalator Over The Hill’. In 1996, she received the Swiss KleinKunstPreis and, in 1998, the City of Zurich Culture Award. Her CD ‘Suicidal Yodels’ appeared in october 2007, followed by «Stucky-Live» 2011 and now preparing her «Black Widow» CD and Tour with David Coulter, Terry Edwards and Michael Blair ( all Tom Waits musicians)  who also toured with Stucky in the internationel «Raindogs Revisited»-Combo.
