BRAM STADHOUDERS (NL)

Bram Stadhouders (Netherlands), is considered to be one of the most emerging improvising musicians. His style is melodic, filmic and atmospheric, and he uses guitar and technology to create ambiental worlds of emotional focus. With his many projects, he always manages to capture the attention of listeners and press, and was elected as «Best Dutch upcoming improviser in 2008». He released 5 CD’s, and toured extensively all over Europe and the USA, and he is also regularly invited as a guest-musician in international projects with some of the worlds most established improvisers, like Terje Isungset from Norway, Grzech Piotrowski from Poland, and he has a trio with Sidsel Endresen and Jim Black. For his solo-project, he explored extensively the possibilities of his set-up with midiguitar, resulting in improvised music that sounds like its composed. 1 guitar triggers an entire orchestra of IDM beats, the first analog synthesizers, glass and stone sounds, piano experiments, vocals, violins, making unexpected and surprising combinations.
