MINT Jazz 2012: Tre band som er verdt å få med seg! Hayden Powell Trio (NO) , Pablo Held Trio (DE) og Marike van Dijk Quartet (NL) spiller på Caféteatret 17.april kl 2000. Musikerne møttes gjennom Europen Jazz Orchestra 2011, og reiser nå på felles turné med konserter i Oslo, Køln og Rotterdam.
Hayden Powell Trio (NO) with Peedu Kass (EST)
British born, Oslo based jazz trumpeter Hayden Powell (1983) has recently emerged as one of the most exciting young players on the Norwegian scene. Powell currently leads a trio consisting of pianist Eyolf Dale and bassist Jo Skaansar, but for this tour Peedu Kass from Estonia will be taking position on bass. In concert, the trio is known for outgoing and creative performances, where spur-of-the-moment improvisations contribute to make each concert a special one.

Pablo Held Trio (DE)
Pablo Held (1986) grew up in a family of musicians in Hagen, Germany. From an early age on he was introduced to music from different backgrounds. Pablo gained most attention with his trio but he is also a sought after sideman in vari- ous projects in the European jazz scene. He already collaborated with Dave Liebman, Jasper Blom, Till Brönner, Jochen Rückert, Uli Beckerhoff, Ignaz Dinné, Eric Vloeimans, WDRBigBand, and many others.

Marike van Dijk Quartet (NL)
Marike van Dijk (1982) is currently pursuing a second master’s degree at NYU, but has luckily found the time to visit Europe for MINT Jazz. Marike’s music is best described as modern creative Jazz – Jazz influenced by classical, pop and rock music.
