Kitchen Orchestra is an absolute powerhouse of an ensemble uniting some of the most exciting improvisers from the west coast town of Stavanger. Since 2005, the collective has worked with an impressive catalogue of musicians and composers, for example Alexander von Schlippenbach, Lotte Anker, Evan Parker, Marilyn Crispell, Damo Suzuki, Eve Risser, George Lewis, Maria Faust, Geir Lysne and the list goes on.
From 2022 onwards, the ensemble joined forces with renowned saxophonist Mike Fletcher and his project Silent Form which explores some of the musical philosophies and listening techniques developed by Ornette Coleman in his early work, applied to Fletcher’s compositions.
