In 2017 I wrote Autumn Rain, and for the first time in years I felt that I could ask musicians to try things out with me. I knew Terje and Tine from before, and I had a feeling that they could contribute to develop my songs and the sound of the new trio. What I didn´t know was that they knew each other very well and had played together for years! Both said yes, and we started to rehearse together in 2019.
Tine and Terje are very gifted musicians with a lot of experience, and it didn´t take long to develop a strong feeling of belonging inside our new world of songs and shared musicianship. As a composer, I draw inspiration from all kinds of music, so the task was to find the songs that in different ways sounded like they belonged together. Many songs were thrown in the bin, but some stuck with us. The songs we kept comprise “Places and other stories”.
