Opplevelser fra N

Om utgivelsen

For the next project after Balans I needed to do something else. Like breaking up with a partner then dating someone their complete opposite, hopefully seeing everything clearly again. Where would I go?

I had been waiting for the opportunity to combine my music with the deep feelings and connection I’ve had with N since I was a small child. When I encountered Deep Ecology and Ecosophy a number of years ago, it was a revelatory experience. My views, perspectives and feelings in relation to everything outside myself were fundamentally changed, and the strong experiences of N I had as a child now made sense as an adult. It was like a profound reunion. I was not only surrounded by trees, animals, plants sea and mountains once more, but also surrounded by friends and safe relationships, just as I experienced as an 8-year-old. Everything lives. Everything is connected. Everything concerns me. Everything is me. All encounters in life and nature: Not I and it, but you and I. You are me.

It dawned on me: improvising has many similarities with the processes in N. It is a collective improvisation where the various sub-organisms are woven into a larger whole. Dependent upon each other. A common (rhythm) flow. If one falls out, the whole thing falters and desperately seeks other means of survival. They talk together, relate to each other, and depend on each other. Both music and N are a living process that is always on the way to something that has never been before. Unseen and unheard, but still recognizable. Loved and endangered.

JAZZPROFILEN
