Om utgivelsen
“LEAVING ALTENHAIN” draws inspiration from the immigration journey of Kurt-Rudolf Reiche, Vegard’s grandfather, who was the youngest child in a large family from Altenhain – a small East German town at the time. A restless thirst for new horizons, economic hardship, and rising tension in the DDR were forces that drove him out into the world. Rudolf eventually worked as an electrician on ships and, finally, found love with Eva, a telegraph operator from Mosjøen (Norway), where they settled and started a family.
For us both, this project has been some of the most fun we’ve ever had with music.
Reconnecting with our individual pasts in agressive genres, and our common interests in rhythmical textures, grooves, new sounds and
music of any kind with clear energy has been a explorative journey itself.
