«Contours of Texture emerged from a period of loss and change. I wanted to create music that could hold beauty, light, darkness and vulnerability, while maintaining a sense of resistance and instability.»
Composed and recorded in February and March 2026, a few months after Kjetil Husebø lost his youngest brother, this album is shaped by grief, absence, and transformation.
Moving from light toward darker, more unstable terrain, it reflects both a deeply personal experience and the unease of its time. Created during a period of political instability and growing uncertainty, the music carries a broader sense of fragility and unrest. Without being programmatic, it seeks to capture something of the atmosphere of its time—a tension between vulnerability and persistence, stillness and disturbance. Even in its darkest moments, the music searches for beauty, fragile clarity, and moments of repose, creating space for listening, reflection, and quiet presence.
Built from synthesizers, samplers, electronics, and layered sound processes, the album explores texture, resonance, and gradual transformation. Granular detail, subtle micro-movements, microtonal shifts, and drifting harmonic centres create a sound world in constant motion, where nothing remains entirely fixed.
Throughout the album, synthetic textures intermingle with acoustic and orchestral sensibilities. Electronic sound is shaped to feel organic and breathing, while harmonic gestures evoke strings, resonant bodies, and distant instrumental traces. The result is a porous sonic environment in which the synthetic and the acoustic continually dissolve into one another.
