Trondheim Vinterjazz Weekend presenterer to framoverlente trioer!
GARD NILSSEN’S ACOUSTIC UNITY
Den spellemannsnominerte og trippelplateaktuelle trioen Gard Nilssen´s Acoustic Unity har nettopp lagt bak seg en 15 jobbers lang Norge og Europa turné, har spilt på plata og i bandet til Susanne Sundfør og blir omtalt som noe av det friskeste på den europeiske jazzscenen om dagen.
Bandet er booket til Winterjazz i New York rett før Dokkhuset, og spiller på legendariske Ronnie Scotts jazzclub uka etter.

Based in London and Berlin, they play for music with complexity and expressivity. Light-speed rhythmic patterns and dense harmonic clusters colliding in unique and fierce combinations, which has been described as “rip-roaring” and “fiercely intense” (The Guardian 2015) as well as “a terrific musical intellect – huge energy and intuitive sensibilities” (London Jazz 2015).
The members of the band have all received their own critical acclaim (including a Mercury Music Award Nomination, BBC Jazz Award and numerous Downbeat Critics Poll nominations) as well as having toured the world with some of the finest musicians around (Django Bates, Squarepusher, Norma Winstone, Marius Neset) – but here they shine collectively, as like-minded experimentalists and improvisers.”
